Plant description

The system falls into the category of landfills for the transfer of non-hazardous waste in accordance with D.Lgs. 36/03 and D.Lgs. 152/06, as amended and it will be designed to receive waste from neighboring municipalities for an expected quantitative of about 270 ton/day.
The system consists of a single tank of volume equal to 500,000 m3, properly sealed in accordance with the criteria laid down by D.Lgs. n. 36/2003 on the landfill of non-hazardous waste.
In order to preserve the environmental matrices, therefore, on the bottom of the excavation will be prepared a double network for the uptake of the leachate produced by the waste delivered, the first for the ordinary drainage and the second, the lower one, for the safety drainage. The networks of leachate belong to two separate wells of the collection and recovery, in order to allow temporary storage of leachate within separate units and dedicated (steel tanks above ground); leachate is then directed within the same landfill site, to the treatment plant dedicated to it, in which, through a physical-chemical process, it is possible to obtain a clarified effluent (compatible with the limits laid down by D.Lgs. 152/06, as amended, for discharges into bodies of surface receptors) and a concentrate, which can be fed back into the landfill body.
The system is completed by a section dedicated to the aspiration of the biogas produced by the waste placed and its adduction close to an existing plant for energy recovery (production of electrical energy through internal combustion engines using biogas). The monitoring of all environmental matrices will be carried out both during the placing period and the post-mortem period of the landfill, in accordance with the provisions of D.Lgs. no. 36/2003.
